Baguma Poultry Hatcheries uses locally developed and energy-efficient incubators to hatch high-quality chicks for farmers across Uganda. The innovation improves access to affordable, disease-free chicks while promoting local poultry production and job creation. It combines modern hatchery technology with farmer training and digital record systems.

Impact

The hatchery provides affordable chicks to smallholder farmers, helping them start and grow poultry businesses. It creates employment for youth and women, enhances food security, and contributes to local economic growth. The innovation also supports rural livelihoods and reduces dependence on imported chicks.
