The Occupational Safety and Health Tracking and Measurement System

ICT Prototype
Description

The OSH Tracking and Measurement System is a digital platform that helps employers monitor and improve workplace safety and health. It automatically tracks incidents, alerts workers about risks, and supports compliance with Uganda’s Occupational Safety and Health Act. The system also suggests training based on identified risks, helping companies prevent accidents before they happen. It’s an affordable, local solution designed to make Ugandan workplaces safer, smarter, and more productive.

Impact

The Occupational Safety and Health Tracking and Measurement System improves lives and livelihoods. Socially, it protects workers from preventable accidents, promotes mental wellbeing, and builds safer, more caring workplaces. Economically, it helps employers reduce costs linked to injuries, absenteeism, and legal penalties while improving productivity and trust. By making safety measurable and accessible, the system empowers both employers and workers to value human life and dignity at work. Over time, it contributes to a stronger, healthier workforce and a more sustainable economy where growth is built on safety, responsibility, and respect for people.

Target Audience

The innovation will help companies to assess, track and measure their progress in implementing the occupational safety and health guidelines and procedures. This will help in reducing risks and injuries at work.
