VEP Herbal Wound Spray
Description
The VEP Herbal Wound Spray is a topical formulation made from extracts of Aloe vera and Black jack plants intended to help relieve symptoms of minor skin wounds (cuts, scratches, and abrasions), has an anti inflammatory effect and also provides a cooling effect for the wounds providing conducive environment for healing. It is fully approved by NDA and targets individuals from low and middle income communities who can't access other alternative wound care solutions. It also responds to the growing challenges of the pathogen economy in regards to emergence of anti microbials resistance due to the misuse of the available conventional antimicrobial wound care products.
Impact
There's a growing consumer demand for sustainable, eco-friendly products. By utilizing locally available raw materials, our venture promotes environmental sustainability and supports local economy. The venture also aligns with the Uganda's vision 2040 and the National Development plan IV on value addition in key growth opportunities, strengthening private sector capacity to drive growth, increase household income and most importantly improve quality of life through supporting the local farmers involved in locally sources raw material farming and create jobs by fostering innovation, and industrialization. Furthermore, as we scale up the venture through its strong potential of becoming an exportable product, we hope to generate foreign exchange income for Uganda contributing to its economic growth while addressing the healthcare needs of the population.
Target Audience
It targets individuals from low and middle income communities who can't access other alternative wound care solutions. Such individuals are school going children, athletes, manual labourers, victims of accidents. The other kind of beneficiaries are medicinal farmers who grow and provide raw materials (Aloe vera and Black jack) to be used in manufacturing.
