Urithi Realms

Tourism Prototype
Description

Urithi Realms is a digital heritage project that uses Virtual Reality (VR) to preserve and recreate Ugandan culture in an immersive and interactive way. It allows people to virtually explore cultural sites, traditions, and stories as if they were there in person. The project aims to make cultural heritage more engaging and accessible to young people and Ugandans in the diaspora.

Impact

Urithi Realms has the potential to create strong social and economic impact by preserving Uganda’s rich cultural heritage while empowering creative talent. Socially, it promotes cultural awareness and identity among youth and the diaspora, helping bridge generational gaps and pride in heritage. Economically, it creates new jobs and income opportunities for local 3D artists, storytellers, and cultural experts. By digitizing heritage sites, Urithi Realms can also boost cultural tourism, attracting both local and international audiences, and contribute to Uganda’s creative and digital economy.

Target Audience

Youth, Ugandan diaspora communities, cultural institutions, and creative professionals such as 3D artists and storytellers.
