Electrochemical and paper based biosensing platforms using nucleic acids as bioreceptors

Health Prototype
Description

Electrochemical and paper based biosensors that use synthetic nucleic acids to detect either proteins or DNA that are sensitive and specific to the target analyte that can be used as point of care screening for diagnosis of various diseases.

Impact

Improving access to sensitive and specific diagnostic screening devices that can quantify the concentration of target analyte which facilitates early screening of diseases hence supporting clinicians to initiate timely treatment of patients.

Target Audience

Regional referral hospitals and patients accessing diagnostic services in regions outside Kampala
